the problem
HONDA challenged me to improve the online curbside experience by focusing on the car's frunk functionality. However, my research uncovered a more significant issue affecting curbside pickup, which extends beyond merely organizing groceries and unloading. Technological advancements and busy lifestyles have diminished the personal connection of shopping, making the experience feel increasingly impersonal. These advancements have led to curbsides downfall. Many survey participants indicated that the size of the cargo space is not their main concern; rather, it’s the stress, miscommuntication, diminishing vaule of product selected, and lack of connection between service and user associated with the online-store experience that drives them toward avoiding this. While the "frunk" is a experience worth evlauating, I decieded as a designer to pivote this challege to the larger issue at hand and present a soultion that could utimatley solve the organization issue of loading and unloading during curbside pick-up. The central challenge lies in finding ways for a vehicle to foster a stronger connection between staff and customers, ultimately enhancing the overall experience.
